USER RESEARCH
How can we provide and offer the best nutritional and organic recipe considering the needs and particularities of each pet?
Nowadays, in a fast-paced and busy world, pet owners have little time to dedicate to choosing a balanced diet for their animals. Sometimes, the quickest and easiest option is to buy from the supermarket
The variety of food available for pets is sometimes limited. Pet owners would like to have a range of food options to offer their animals, depending on breed, size, and diet
Possibility to order online and track through the app
PERSONAS
Let's meet Pedro. Pedro is a vegetarian young man, he would like to offer a vegetarian diet to his dog Lucky. However, knowing that Lucky needs certain nutrients, he is concerned about the lack of options in the market to meet this requirement.
USER JOURNEY MAP
When evaluating a user journey map, it's important to focus on several key aspects to ensure it accurately represents the user's experience and identifies areas for improvement. Let's check the user journey map of Pedro.
PAPER WIREFRAMING
After collecting inputs from users I started by scathing wireframes to respond the user's needs. I designed the initial interface of what should be included in the app. An app that offers suggestions of nutrition regarding pet’s profile.
LOW-FIDELITY PROTOTYPING
A good user flow enhances customer loyalty to the app. If users have a positive experience, they are very likely to use the app again. It is important to ensure smooth interaction between screens.
USABILITY TESTS
I conducted seven usability studies throughout 2 rounds. The first one allowed me to understand how users perceived the flow of the app and the second to verify if the changes made after the user inputs were effectively.
1. User want to order food for their pets online
2. Owners want more diversity and options for pets nutrition
3. User would like to track their orders online
1. Users would like to have a customer support page
2. Menu to add items outside of the food suggested
CONSIDERING INPUTS
I conducted 7 usability tests. 4 out of 7 users intend to have a team that supports their purchases. In this sense, a customer support section for questions and support was added. Furthermore, 6 out of 7 users would like to be able to add other types of food besides what is suggested by Buddy's algorithm. Therefore, s I created an entire page with all Buddy’s items to allow customers buy other items besides the nutrition suggested for their pets.
HIGH-FIDELITY PROTOTYPE
High-fidelity designs are essential for creating successful digital products. After I considered the inputs of users I made the changes and designed the high-fidelity prototypes so that the app would better serve pet owners and make the app's usage as intuitive and smooth as possible.
WHAT A PROJECT!!
Users found the app intuitive and liked its appearance and design. They were pleased with the greater diversity of nutrition and customization it offers. For me, it was a pleasure to develop this app, I have so much fun on interviewing and designing.
